This four-piece series, done in oils, shows a slightly different take on the traditional Christian story of the “Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse”. With these works I removed the image of humanity all together so as to shift the focus to the horses. Each horse symbolizes and embodies the actions of humanity that often lead to the ruin of land, animals and ultimately (as expressed in the original story) life on earth. The ultimate message being that the actions of humanity (conquest, war, famine, death) don’t just affect humans, but also the land and, consequently, the wildlife within it.
